Slavonski Brod
Slavonski Brod is the seventh largest city in Croatia. It is situated in the eastern part of the country, in the region called Slavonia. The city lies on the Sava River, which is at the same time the border between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The river has always been important to the city and its dwellers, in terms of economy, transport or pure enjoyment in its natural beauty.
Slavonski Brod witnessed turbulent events in its past, both distant and recent. However, the remnants of these turbulent events are nowadays some of the landmarks worth seeing in the city. First of all, according to historical records, the tie originates from Slavonski Brod. Furhtermore, there is The Brod Fortress, built during the Austro-Hungarian rule to serve as a stronghold against the Turks. The Franciscan monastery is another landmark, along with Korzo, the main city square. Slavonski Brod is also known for its great Slavonian food, warm-hearted people and various festivities throughout the year.
The city also prides itself on having numerous successful athletes in various sports, especially football.
Secondary School of Economics
Secondary School of Economics from Slavonski Brod, Croatia, is a vocational school which provides education for students in the following fields: economics, business and legal administration, hotel and tourism industry (four-year programmes) and sales (a three-year programme). The school currently employs 73 members of staff - 61 teaching and 12 non-teaching staff, and has about 550 students. Apart from organizing and conducting the teaching process, the teachers encourage students to take part in various competitions (in vocational subjects, foreign languages, history, etc.) in order to apply their knowledge and use their creativity. Also, students are encouraged to take part in various projects - eTwinning and Erasmus+ projects and debates.
